I uploaded a deviation this morning and, I swear, it wasn't ten minutes later that someone had left the rudest comment that I had ever seen.
My first reaction was shock. Followed quickly by anger. Then I, of course, wanted to retaliate. Which I didn't.
What I did do, was hide the comment and report the person to administration.
But, it begs the questions, why? What is it about human nature that requires someone to make the rude comment in the first place? What is so lacking in their life that they have to come and actively work to injure another human being? I have always been one of those people who have worked really hard to be kind to everyone (unless they drove me to the edge and I just broke). But, I don't come out swinging first just to be hurtful. Who would? Why would you want to? What do you get out of it? What sort of thrill do you really get out of it and just what do you think you are proving to yourself, and others, anyway?
I don't really have much more to say, there really isn't that much more to say.
Some people are childish. They have to hurt other people in order to feel big themselves. Too bad they chose to pick on me. I just reported them to administration. Retaliation is a fool's waste of time.

What's amazing to me, though, is that horses don't ask, "hey? does my ASS LOOK FAT IN THIS FIELD?" and my dogs don't ask me, "Hey, does my breath stink? I just gargled with bobcat poo!" They don't care. Because they're just so f*cking happy to be alive.
...And we think we're so smart.
