Artist's Comments

Manic

This is the first piece in my triptych entitled Manic Depression with Dissociative Tendencies

I would like to thank all the artists who provided the wonderful stock images I used:

Drac Bride 22 by :iconmjranum:

Butterflys, Butterflystock 3, 4 & 5 and Shoofly-Stock_Butterfly by :iconshoofly-stock:

(sky) Sky by :iconbeautelle-stock:

(foreground) Manitoba Colors by :iconmidnightstouchstock:

(hourglass) Sands of Time by :iconsusiestock:

The next submission in the series will be: Depression followed by with Dissociative Tendencies after which will come the triptych itself (which will have the artist's comments).

I don't know about photomanips (despite having done some already) but if you want an untrained opinion I like the ones you've posted. Sorry not being of more help.

And, you are a great help, you are a wonderful friend and a great supporter!! I really appreciate both of those.

I paint (photograph) my own reality. The only thing I know is that I paint (photograph) because I need to, and I paint (photograph) whatever passes through my head without any other consideration.

I know some manic depressives - from watching them, this must be pretty much what the "up" feels like...

...Thanks for entering my contest!

Thank you very much! I am bipolar and when I am manic it really does seem like the world is brighter and the colors are deeper, richer, somehow fuller. Everything around you moves slower and you are just moving a thousand miles a minute.

Ideas flow through you and you can paint the house in an afternoon. There really is no good way to explain it in words and I found attempting to depict it in an image to be fairly frustrating.

Still, I'm not unhappy with the end result.

Thank you for the nice words and for providing the wonderful sky.
